Our Story

Hello everyone! We would like to formally introduce ourselves! We are the owners of Big Wave Coffeehouse.

My name is Mindy Valeria. I am an artist in my spare time and enjoy making creations inspired by the ocean. Being from Washington, the coffee capital of America, it’s always been my dream to own a coffee shop. 

My husband is Cherokee Valeria and together we’ve been going to this spot ever since we moved here a few years ago. Cherokee was born and raised in Hawaii. He currently coaching at Sac State with Troy Taylor and some of the other former Folsom Football coaches.

Between the two of us, we have three children. Cameron is the youngest. He graduated from Folsom High School last year and is now in the EMT program at Folsom Lake Community College with aspirations of becoming a fire fighter. He is also a car enthusiast and enjoys going to car shows to see the classics. T’kia graduated from Eastern Washington University with a double major in Business Marketing and Business Management. She’s excited to see what the future holds! Ayosgi is the oldest. He graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in Recording Arts. He is currently a sound producer up in Washington.
